Rosh Hashanah

To our Jewish friends and family, we’d like to wish you all a Happy and Healthy (belated) New Year.

At the end of September we celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. This is a time to reflect on the past year, celebrate the good times, victories and achievements and reflect on the times we may not have been our best selves. Holiday celebrations include going to synagogue, gathering with family and eating apples and honey to signify a sweet new year. For this baker…that means apple pie!

A Summer Full of Cakes

Wedding Cakes

We are a small baking-company. Our recipes are family based. Our skills are self-taught. We like the home-made feel of slightly uneven cookies and hand rolled doughs. We do not use Fondant or craft tiered cakes. Instead we do weddings and big events specifically catered to the clients’ needs. More

A Family Affair

This week is brought to you by our parents: Bon & How and Yvonne & Bruce.

These are some awesome people. They raised us (did pretty good, no?) and supported us from one crazy idea to the next. From college to our first jobs, to quitting jobs and now running a business. Not only are they there for moral support and to give their feedback/input/ideas/advice, but they even like our food!

This week our biggest orders were from our families. My Dad ordered treats to share with his friends while I was home over the weekend. My Mom ordered treats to be brought to her meeting in Philly via her DC office on Wednesday.  Jamilyah’s Mom loves the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie and ordered 5 of them! She is sharing the love with family in DC during her visit and taking the rest home to freeze.

We are some lucky girls to have such great families.
