Quinceañera

Today we did our first Quinceanera celebration. For those unfamiliar with this event, it’s a Latin American celebration of a girl’s 15th birthday marking her transition from childhood to adulthood. It is a festive event filled with pink, pretty dresses, and very feminine touches.

The birthday girl chose Red Velvet as her flavor, perfect for a party! So we made 2 dozen Red Velvet cupcakes- half with white frosting and half with pink. Then we topped the tiers with a smaller Red Velvet cake, pretty in pink, and ready for the cake cutting ceremony. We added a touch of toasted Red Velvet crumbs and a few white chocolate Butterflies to make this little cake extra special.

We hope the birthday girl felt as special as her cakes looked!
